The new millennium started and music had changed. The leftover angst of grunge evolved into rock ballads with angry overtones featuring singers singing in a blistering shout to express their thoughts and feeling. Just like the rest of us. Two such songs are Hemorrhage (In My Hands) and Take A Picture. Each of these songs has undertones of love and loss, feelings about which I am all too familiar. (..Don’t fall away and leave me to myself. Don’t fall away and leave life bleeding in my hands again...) I hear that being shouted and I am angry at what I used to believe in, how any kind of god could leave me behind after all the losses. (...Hey Dad, what do you think about your son now?)
