One of my top songs of this new millennium, Breathe by Anna Nalick is a romantic journal entry of patience and friendship. I think that’s why I identify with the song; it reminds me of all those late nights in my twenties when I’d watch the clock change from 2 am to 3:30 am as I’d journal my wants and wishes and private thoughts that yearned to be heard. I still have the journal. It’s a beaten up spiral notebook with the back cover missing. The edges of the pages have begun yellowing. And every so often I think it might be fun to reread some of the entries but as quickly as I embark on that journey, I stop reading because it all gets to be too much.
