For those of us over the age of 50, here’s a nice throwback treat from the same days as the song I posted 2 days ago; anyone else can feel free to scroll on by. Shambala is a feel-good classic by Three Dog Night, a happy spiritual pop song that evokes my early days in which I was my most authentic happiest. I hear this and I think of autumns in the park across the street (about which I’ve spoken at length in previous notes), carefree days with low October sunshine on our baby faces as we owned that playground and the leaf piles we’d built. Shout outs to my childhood homies: Linda, with whom I painted rocks and gave names to random frogs; Greg, with whom I created TV-show-themed board games; Diane, in whose basement we concocted banana milkshakes. I wouldn’t trade my childhood memories for anything.
