Hooray for Erasure, am I right? They provided so many songs to the soundtrack of my twenties. They were the band my Vincent loved best. You might remember that Erasure tied for the number seven spot on my very first countdown 5 years ago with Chains Of Love and A Little Respect. Clearly those two songs are among my favorites of ever. Then, a long time past 1988, a long time past the passing of my dear pal Vincent, something amazing happened: Erasure released a completely new pop song called Be With You, and it sounded like all their wonderfully happy songs of yore. I thank Richie for alerting me to this fabulously uplifting song, otherwise I may have missed it. But there’s Richie, knowing full well what I remember about Vincent, and how these lyrics would resound even today, helping me to always be connected to my little bean, stalking me ever from beyond (as promised).
